Sakura
akura is a school girl who envies and copies her moves from
Ryu and Ken. Her pattern is therefore a mixture of both
of them. On the sides, she has green and yellow vertical
columns. In the middle, she has the remaining colors, red and
blue, horizontaly alternating. Sakura is a copy, and usually,
copies are not as good as the original. Sakura has a pattern
that may appear very good at first, but it fails during play.
Having striated blues and reds in the middle may seem like a
good idea, but it is not. After Sakura attacks, many times all
someone needs is a crystal breaker, and a blue block to break
it on. In this manner, the opponent can eliminate all blue
blocks. Once this happens, the opponent is left with nothing
but a huge red block in the middle of the screen. In addition
to this fault, she also has the same problem that Ken has.
Sakura can not attack "half heartedly" because she too has a
a row of reds as her first attack. Thus, Ken is a better choice
because he is not susceptible to the "crystal breaker
phenomenon." Even though Ken is a clear choice over Sakura,
she is still relatively better than Ryu. She is still a solid
character who, if used properly, can be very productive.
